Notes
- A = Inside Bore (in.) • B = Outside Diameter (in.)
- Standard taps: ½” or ¾” NPT (threaded) or socket weld. 1″ NPT and above available but requires thicker ring.
- Female ring joint facing available thickness will be as per ASME RTJ.
- Figure 8 blinds plus the following: (½” NPT + ⅞”) – (¾” NPT + 1″) – (1″ NPT + 1⅜”)
- Standard gasket surface finish: 125–250 RMS serrated. Other finishes must be specified.
- Dimensions per ASME B16.5. All values are reference only — consult applicable codes for design use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes do standard bleed rings come in?
Standard bleed rings are available in NPS 1 through NPS 24, in ASME pressure classes 150 through 2500. Not all size and class combinations are available — Class 2500 is only manufactured up to NPS 12. See the dimension table above for the full matrix.
What is the standard thickness of a bleed ring?
Standard thickness is 1-1/2 inches for rings with ½” or ¾” NPT taps, and 2 inches for rings with 1″ NPT taps. Thicker rings can be manufactured for larger taps or additional hardware.
What flange face types are compatible with bleed rings?
Bleed rings can be manufactured to match any standard flange face, including raised face (RF), flat face (FF), and ring type joint (RTJ). Standard gasket surface finish is 125–250 RMS serrated for RF applications. RTJ configurations use female oval ring grooves — male joints are available on request.
